ABOUT
My intention: To enhance everyday routines, tasks & pleasures by making well designed, well made, fit for purpose, sometimes fun, clay vessels: being good on your eye, in your hands & on your lips.
My process: My ceramics are made by hand throwing on the potters wheel or using slabs of soft clay, then fired twice, first. To turn the clay into pot, then glazed & re-fired to 1250° centigrade.

The result: This temperature is much higher than most commercial ceramics are fired to and renders the work extremely durable: most are oven / microwave / dishwasher proof, though not stove top.

My studio: Is near the river in Otley, in the wash-house at the back of my house.

Along time ago: I completed a BA (Hons) in Ceramics at North Staffordshire Polytechnic (now Staffordshire University) in Stoke on Trent, following the Leach (St. Ives) tradition, then taught ceramics for 20 years, before qualifying as a psychotherapist.
